BioSarah Hamilton is a self-taught artist with continuing studies at Art Center. She works with multiple mediums including oil, acrylic, watercolor, ink and mixed media, specializing in photo-realism and figurative painting.
In 2006 Sarah earned her BFA from the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York, and spent time working as a designer with names like Alvin Valley and Timberland. However, she soon realized that a deeper level of creative expression was needed, and fashion could no longer provide that platform. In late 2008 Sarah moved to Los Angeles to become a full-time artist. She is now pursuing her MFA in Fine Art. In 2009, her work was featured in a solo show during Downtown LA Art Walk entitled “Rooted Affection.” The show, comprised of resin covered illustrations, oil paintings, and mixed media work, told the story of a girl led by a tiger. In 2010 Sarah adopted her first dog, Jasmine, aka Jahsi Mukta. Because of her, Sarah painted her first pet portrait, and the next step was obvious. She feels honored to paint man's best friend, capturing their spirit, bringing joy to each family. Exhibitions
